The short version
We do not have accounts, we do not have a newsletter, and we do not sell data. The only information you can give us directly is what you type into the contact form. Beyond that, two third parties see something about your visit: Google Analytics and, if you click a buy link, the retailer.
What we collect directly
The contact form. Your name, email address, optional subject and message. These are sent to us by email and are used to reply to you. They are not added to a mailing list, because there is not one. To reduce automated spam the form also records the moment the page loaded, and your IP address is used for a short-lived rate limit held in memory - both are used only for that purpose and neither is stored.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages get read and which links get clicked, including an affiliate-click event when an outbound buy link is used. That data is aggregated and we use it to decide what to write next. It is processed by Google under its own privacy terms, and browser-level tracking protections and ad blockers will stop it.
Affiliate links
Outbound buy links pass through our own redirect and then to the retailer. The retailer - currently Amazon - sets its own cookies to attribute a purchase to us. We never see who you are or what you bought; we see aggregate commission reporting. The full funding disclosure is here.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own. Google Analytics sets its own, and the retailer sets its own once you leave this site. Blocking either has no effect on how this site works - there is no login, no cart and nothing to remember.
Hosting and logs
The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for operational and security purposes, under its own terms. We do not query those logs to identify individuals.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Your data
If you have written to us and want your message deleted, write to info@contrastden.com and we will delete it. That is the only record of you we hold.
Changes
If this policy changes, the modification date at the top of this page changes with it.
